By hand with a mile detergent like Woolite. Rinse thoroughly. Don’t ring it out. In the sink, place it on a hanger, then over a large towel (for the drip) then bring it where it can hang and drip dry.

The best way is to hand wash it in mild soap. Then wring it out by hand gently. Rinse it twice in clear water with the second rinse containing some fabric softener (very little). After the second rinse, wring it out by hand then roll it up tightly in a terry towel and squeeze. After that put it in the dryer on low for TEN MINUTES ONLY. Take it out and lay it flat to dry somewhere. Do not hang it up as it may stretch or become deformed on the shoulders.

FYI, all t-shirts are knits. Even the ones guys wear so they are susceptible to deformation in wearing and washing.

You can also have it dry cleaned and it will come out fine. You can also alternate between washing and dry cleaning to really keep it in good shape.
