If the wrinkles weren't permanently set, you won't get the same ones back. You need to artfully squeeze the shirt up and try again.
Spread the shirt on a flat, clean surfance and spritz well with water (hard tap water would be GREAT). Try bunching it up across the shirt, pinching and pleating wrinkles as you go. Twist to hold the pleats together, don't smooth things out by pulling too tight. You can use hair elastics to keep it scrunched up. Huge rubber bands, like from bunches of broccoli, work even better. If possible, leave it on top of a clothes dryer or other warm spot to dry faster.
If that doesn't work, consider a bit of a touch up with the iron.
I avoid buying stuff that can't be washed like normal clothes. It gets too inconvenient. References :
