I'm afraid it's lost, but don't lose it's viability... Cut it up and make sachets w/ potpourri for your drawers or friends (good gift to have on hand) Tie a piece of it to your dryer handle or knob, to remind you if anything going in is silk? (it can be like a lost soldier!) Keep it to wrap small presents with.. don't let this be the end of it!
References :
I don't think there is anyway to can really fix it. You could try taking it to a professional cleaners and see what they can do. Maybe just having it dried cleaned might make it look a little better, probably not perfect though.
References :
This may not work but it might be better than throwing the whole thing away. Silk is a protein fiber just like human hair. You might try shampooing it and letting it air dry. (Washable silk is great for travel since you can just hand-wash with shampoo.) I don't know that this will undo the heat damage; I expect your hair would be pretty fried after exposure to those dryer temps for however long, aside from the abrasion from other garments as it tumbles. But shampoo might possibly help restore some of the sheen.
References :
Sorry, but your silk shirt is forever ruined, once you put silk in the dryer, it is destroyed. At least you learned a good lesson for the next time you have a silk shirt, that needs to be cleaned. Next time send your silk out to be dry cleaned professionally. that way, you can have it in good condition for years.
References :
I don't think there is - i would call your local dry cleaner and see what there suggestions are - also is it a brand new shirt >>?? have you washed it before - if it is new i would take it back - most stores have a satisfaction guarantee. Hope this helps !!
